Michele Ortega is proud to have been a public school teacher in Santa Fe for 26 years. She taught in two-way language programs, providing instruction to both native English and Spanish speakers. Later she became a school administrator, supporting families through the pandemic and aiding in the transition back to in-person schooling. Michele commuted to work by bicycle her entire career. She experienced, firsthand, the benefits and deficits of safe bicycle routes around the city. Michele will combine her familiarity with our community and her knowledge of non-automobile transportation to assist in creating Santa Fe’s sustainable growth plan.
